The Laurin Metalli Special Blade is a 82mm (3.2") stainless steel knife blank made in Kauhava, Finland — the heartland of Finnish knifemaking. Crafted from X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, heat treated to 57–58 HRC, the blade offers solid edge retention with good corrosion resistance, making it a practical choice for a wide range of environments including damp and outdoor conditions. Measuring 82mm in blade length, 24mm in depth and 3.25mm in thickness, the blank features a Scandinavian flat grind and a hidden tang — the traditional form favoured by Finnish knifemakers. The blade arrives from the factory sharpened but unpolished, with a wider tang for added strength at the handle junction.
