The Lee Factory Crimp Die for the .38-40 Winchester gives you a separate crimping stage after the bullet is seated. It holds the bullet firmly in the case neck, helping pressure build uniformly and reducing velocity variation, and it works on bullets with no crimp groove. A useful accessory for lever-action rifles and revolvers chambered in this old cartridge. Sold as a single die, it is used alongside your own sizing and seating dies, and can be adjusted to give the amount of crimp you want.
