This Lee Taper Crimp Die is made for the .40 Smith & Wesson and 10mm Auto. It takes the flare out of the case mouth and applies a taper crimp after the bullet has been seated, so seating and crimping can be done as two separate operations. That gives you better control of both steps when loading these pistol cartridges, and a consistent finish to the case mouth.
