The Lee Factory Crimp Die for the .458 Winchester Magnum is used after the bullet has been seated to crimp it firmly into the case neck. For a heavy-recoiling cartridge, a secure crimp helps keep bullets from moving in the case, and gives more uniform start pressure and less velocity variation. It works on bullets whether or not they have a crimp groove, and is sold as a single die.
