The Lee Taper Crimp Die for .30 M1 Carbine is made from hardened steel and designed to overcome crimp problems caused by poor die design. Lee notes these dies offer little or no advantage with 1986 or newer Lee dies, as the crimp angle on those is already a modified taper crimp. Jacketed bullets must have a crimp groove to be crimped with this die.
