The Pixfra Ranger R625 is a 640×512, 12µm thermal imaging monocular built for deer stalking, foxing and pest control after dark. Its vanadium oxide uncooled detector runs at a 50Hz frame rate, paired with a 25mm f1.0 lens giving 1.46x magnification, a 17.4° x 14.0° field of view and a detection range out to 1,300m. A built-in stadiametric rangefinder lets the user mark the top and bottom of an observed object to work out distance automatically, and an integrated laser pointer, with a 10-second auto-disable for eye safety, helps mark targets for the rest of the group. The 0.41-inch, 1440×1080 OLED display runs six colour palettes — white hot, black hot, iron red, sepia, green hot and alarm — and the adjustable dioptre (-4D to +5D) with 25mm eye relief keeps the picture comfortable for different users. Built-in Wi-Fi links the monocular to the Pixfra app, with several phones able to connect at once, and it records stills and video to 32GB of onboard storage. Power comes from a 3,200mAh rechargeable battery rated up to 6.5 hours, and at under 400g and IP67-rated, including a 2m drop test, the Ranger R625 shrugs off -30°C to +50°C conditions and the odd knock in the field.
