This Bisley Rabbit Fur Skin is a genuine rabbit pelt intended for accustoming young gundogs to the scent and feel of fur before they encounter real quarry in the field. Wrapped and secured around a training dummy using elastic bands or hook-and-loop tape, the skin covers the dummy's surface so the dog learns to pick up and carry fur confidently during early retrieving work. Real rabbit fur carries a natural scent that dogs find far more engaging than canvas alone, helping build enthusiasm for the retrieve and easing the transition to game later in training. It's a simple, low-cost addition to a trainer's kit bag, useful alongside canvas or fur-covered dummies for handlers working through the early stages of gundog training. Supplied by BushWear, a UK field-sports specialist, this is a practical training aid for anyone introducing a puppy or young dog to fur ahead of formal retrieving or picking-up work.
