Sierra's MatchKing 6.5mm (.264") 142 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail is a component bullet for handloaders, supplied here in a bulk box of 500 - not loaded ammunition. Sierra draws the jacket to very thin, tightly held tolerances in both diameter and weight, and finishes each bullet with a small meplat to maximise ballistic coefficient. This 142 grain design has a longer ogive radius than Sierra's 140 grain MatchKing, giving it an even higher ballistic coefficient and better resistance to wind drift at long range. MatchKings in this weight are built for serious target shooting out to 1000 yards, and have been used to win more competitions worldwide than the target bullets of any other maker combined. Sierra recommends a twist rate of 1-in-8" or faster to stabilise this bullet properly. As with all MatchKings, this is a match/target bullet rather than a hunting design, so handloaders should select it for its accuracy pedigree on the range rather than for controlled expansion in the field.
