The Smidge Quick Untick Tick Hooks make removing an attached tick quick, safe and hassle-free, whether it's your own skin or a dog that's picked one up out in the field. Rather than pulling or squeezing, the hook slides under the tick until the head is caught, and a gentle twist of the handle between thumb and forefinger encourages the tick to release its mouthparts on its own. Because the tool doesn't compress the tick's body, it reduces the risk of regurgitation and the potential transmission of disease-causing organisms, which is the main danger with tweezers or fingernail removal.
