Surprisingly useless

Worked for 24 hours - actually less than an hour whilst wearing! First day fine; second day the split between the line of the welt and the upper opened again.

Spydabot sting

Decided to give one of these a go as I drive across rough terrain spotting at night. The unit base is very sturdy once put together with very strong magnets on the feet - it sticks to the roof very well. The unit also runs off a rechargeable battery and can be recharged/powered via USB C from the car if you rig it up for it - no clue yet how long the battery lasts.
The unit appears to move too slowly at first, but when the thermal monocular is attached and you are viewing via WiFi in the car - it covers ground quickly to be fair.
Be aware if you are using older thermal equipment on the unit - that the WiFi signal may not be strong enough to connect to a phone/tablet in the car! I tried an older Hikmicro th35 scope and the connection wasn't good enough. I'm fortunate to have a gryphon pro which works very smoothly with the sight phone app through a phone/tablet.
Obviously if you are driving on very rough ground, naturally the unit does move when viewing. But the ability to slow or stop and view immediate 360 degree surroundings without leaving the car is what this unit is all about. If you make sure the unit is put together well with all nuts and bolts provided - AND your monocular is fastened tightly this thing works well.
So far I am impressed and pleased with the unit. The spydabot isn't that big and bulky to remove quickly in between journey's either and pop in the boot/back seat - which is recommended!
The wireless remote for spydabot works very smoothly - I just wish you could attach it to a neck lanyard via a loop in the remote - but there is no hole in it. I just worry about misplacing it ....
