The Talon HD 10K puts HD binocular glass, a long-range laser rangefinder and a ballistic solver into one 10x42 unit, so you can spot, range and get a holdover without swapping kit. Vortex rates it to range reflective targets out to 10,000 yards (about 9,144 m), trees to 4,000 yards and deer-sized targets to 2,400 yards, with a 10-yard minimum. The integrated GeoBallistics solver, with its bullet library and customisable profiles, shows wind and drop solutions on an auto-levelling red OLED display, drawing on on-board sensors for temperature, pressure, humidity, compass bearing and inclination. Ranging modes cover line of sight, angle-compensated horizontal distance, ballistics and a continuous scan, with Normal, First, Last, Extended Laser Range and Rain/Fog target modes for awkward conditions. It can create and store up to ten range cards and connects with other Vortex Relay devices. Eye relief is 18.5 mm with twist-up eyecups; the body is nitrogen purged, O-ring sealed, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, it runs on a CR123 battery, and it is covered by the Vortex VIP Warranty, which Vortex describes as unlimited, unconditional and lifetime.
