The Woolpower Zip Turtleneck 200 is a mid-weight merino wool base layer built from the brand's own Ullfrotté Original fabric — a 200 g/m² blend of 60% merino wool, 25% polyester, 13% polyamide and 2% elastane, knitted with a terry loop on the inside that traps air for warmth and wicks moisture away from the skin even when damp. The circular-knit construction means there are no lengthwise seams to chafe, and the turtleneck collar is double-knitted with a short zip so you can open it up on the move rather than overheat. The back is cut longer than the front to stop gaps opening at the waist when you reach or bend, and the cuffs are knitted straight into the sleeve ends rather than added afterwards. It works equally well as a first layer against the skin or as a warming mid layer over something lighter, making it a genuine year-round option for stalking, walking and cold-weather fieldwork. Every garment is made in Östersund in northern Sweden, following Woolpower's long-standing manufacturing methods.
