Safety boots
The Manchester is the boot this range turns on. The LTR Tall is a leather boot in dark brown and in black/grey, cut high for ankle support on uneven ground. The Manchester Mid BOA swaps laces for a BOA dial, which is the one to take if you are in and out of boots several times a day or your hands are cold and wet when you do it — a dial works with gloves on, laces do not.
Both are rated to S3S, which covers a protective toecap, a penetration-resistant midsole and a water-resistant upper. If the job also calls for instep protection, that is a different standard again — see metatarsal safety footwear.
Sizing
Safety toecaps do not give. Order with the socks you work in and allow room at the end — a steel cap that touches your toe on day one will still be touching it in a year, and you will feel it every time you go downhill.
