The NateChrony Variable Adapter mounts a NateChrony ballistic chronograph on a barrel that isn't threaded — no drilling or tapping required. It simply pushes onto the end of the barrel and locks in place with aluminium thumb screws, supplied with either knurled or printed tabs. Choose the maximum outer diameter of your barrel from the two sizes on offer; each adapter then adjusts down from that maximum to a smaller minimum diameter using two sets of interchangeable inserts, so one adapter covers a full diameter range instead of needing two separate purchases. Correct fitting matters: the barrel must make contact at four points, set as close as possible to the top and bottom rather than the middle, or the chronograph can be thrown out of alignment, and the bore and outer barrel must be concentric before fitting or damage or injury can result. Compared with NateChrony's regular slimline adapters, the variable adapter needs less clearance between the air tank and barrel, which makes it a useful option on tighter PCP builds.
