SmartRest is Australian kit built for shooting off a vehicle, and it does that job better than anything improvised out of a rolled-up coat.
The Racken Rest II clamps to a door window and gives a solid rest at a natural height. The Quad Rest 3 is the heavier steel version with its own cradle. Both are aimed at foxing and night work where you are calling from the truck rather than walking in, and the SpydaBot roof pedestals — including the Sting H2O and a dual side-by-side mount — carry a thermal, a lamp or a camera so you can scan without opening a door.
The rest of the range fills in around that: a gun cradle for tripod rests, curved-base and flat rails for mounting a thermal spotter alongside a lamp, a wireless remote on/off switch, a quick-release light and optic adaptor, and a green laser and scope kit.
Shoot from a vehicle only where you have the landowner's permission and a certain backstop, and never from or across a public road.
