Nikwax Polar Proof is a wash-in water repellency treatment formulated specifically for fleece, wool, fibre-pile and synthetic insulation fabrics, including ski wear. Applied in a standard washing machine, it restores and adds durable water repellency to the outer surface of the fabric while helping to maintain the air gap within the knit and weave — the key to keeping warmth trapped next to the body. By repelling water from the surface in wet or humid conditions, it prevents the heavy, sodden feel that degrades insulation performance, minimises weight gain from moisture absorption, and prolongs the useful life of the garment. Polar Proof also revives breathability, so treated fleece continues to vent body heat during active use. The formula is water-based, biodegradable, non-flammable and non-hazardous, and contains no fluorocarbons — making it an environmentally responsible choice. No tumble drying is required after treatment, and it will not alter the cosmetic appearance of the fabric. A 300ml bottle treats multiple garments.
