Slip On Mens Summer

    Filter

Men's summer slip-ons: the Dune London Buftonn suede loafer, Hush Puppies Franco, Roscoe leather loafer and Reuben suede boat shoe, and a Harrison boat shoe in tan. This is casual footwear for warm dry days, not field-sports kit. For boots and shoes to work or stalk in, start at footwear.

Suede and weather. Suede marks with water and drying it badly leaves a tide line. Treat a suede loafer as a dry-weather shoe unless the listing says it has been protected, and keep a suede brush and protector spray to hand. Leather loafers and boat shoes cope with the odd shower rather better.

Loafer or boat shoe. A loafer is the smarter of the two and sits well with chinos. A boat shoe is laced or tied, adjusts to the foot and usually has a flatter, grippier sole, which suits a wet deck or a damp pavement better than a leather-soled loafer. If you intend to go without socks, check the description for a lining; an unlined shoe is more comfortable bare-footed and a lined one holds its shape better.

Sizing. Slip-ons have no laces to take up slack, so a shoe that is half a size long will slide at the heel. Order the size you take in a closed shoe and use half sizes where the listing offers them.

One women's slip-on sandal, the Hunter Core Embossed Slider, has ended up on this page; the ladies' range is at women's slip-on shoes.
