The DOC 150 is a humane kill spring trap originally developed by New Zealand's Department of Conservation and widely used in the UK for controlling grey squirrels, rats, stoats and weasels. It meets the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS), the internationally recognised benchmark for kill-trap performance. UK use is conditional on the trap being set correctly: in a closed-end tunnel it can be used for grey squirrels, rats, stoats and weasels, while in a run-through tunnel configuration it's restricted to rats, stoats and weasels only — grey squirrels must not be targeted in a run-through set-up. In both cases the trap must be housed in a tunnel built to the specification laid down for the purpose; the trap itself does not include a tunnel, so factor one in separately if you don't already have a compliant set-up.
